Peanut Butter & Jelly Milkshake is a super EASY and DELICIOUS treat inspired by the iconic shake from Disney’s 50’s Prime Time Cafe in Hollywood Studios. Enjoy an iconic Disney World treat at home!
Disney 50’s Prime Time Cafe
The inspiration behind 50’s Prime Time Cafe in Disney World’s Hollywood Studios is super fun. Nostalgic comfort food style dishes (think Pot Roast, Meatloaf and Fried Chicken) served by your ‘family’ in a 1950s style setting.
While I do love some comfort food, it’s not really my go-to on a super hot day after running around Toy Story land. Luckily, the delicious and decadent ice cream milkshakes Prime Time is famous for are also available at the Tune In Lounge next door. This is my version of the popular PB&J Shake enjoyed there!
Peanut Butter & Jelly Milkshake
Peanut Butter and Jelly has to be up there as one of the most iconic flavour combinations. I’ll eat or drink pretty much anything which contains peanut butter, but this combination of decadent vanilla ice cream with raspberries and peanut butter is just next level.
This sweet and salty treat is really easy to make! Just add all the ingredients to a blender and in less than a minute you’ll have a delicious creamy shake to enjoy. I love topping mine off with some whipped cream and sprinkles to make it extra special!
I love a good quality vanilla ice cream, and my all time fave is Mackie’s. This is also simply sublime if you swap in a decadent chocolate ice cream for a Peanut Butter Cup style twist.
Either will work! Frozen berries will alter the consistency slightly and make it a little thicker.
Yes absolutely! Raspberries are my favourite but you can swap them for strawberries, blackberries, blueberries or even a mixture. Use whatever you love or what you have to hand.
I like to use raspberry jam but you can use your favourite flavour of jam or jelly. I prefer to match the flavour to the fruit I’m using, but feel free to mix it up!
Yes, if you want to make a slightly healthier version of this shake then greek yoghurt or even frozen yoghurt is an excellent substitute for ice cream. The milkshake will just not be quite as sweet.
I hope this recipe helps you bring a little Disney Magic home with you! Please leave me a comment if you try it, or tag me on Instagram @magicaleats_ – I would love to see your photos!
